Taiwan

Among the many things Taiwan produces, meeting planners can add one more … great memories. Taiwan is growing as a popular event destination as a direct result of its stellar facilities, services, and beautiful land- and city-scapes. Taiwan’s capital city, Taipei, is more than just an Asian Tiger boomtown. It’s also an exciting and modern Asian city bursting with diversity and brimming with energy. There’s a fascinating visual dichotomy at play in Taipei where the old world and the new world merge.

Key Locations

  • Taipei
  • Taoyuan
  • Taichung
  • Tainan
  • Kaohsiung
  • Hualieb
A prime example: Modern-marvel, Taipei 101 (until recently the tallest building in the world), overlooks the National Palace Museum, where Taiwans’ most prized ancient arts and artifacts reside. Taiwan offers all the comforts of modern life, which (of course) includes high quality cuisine. The offerings found in Taipei run the gamut between world-famous restaurants to its incredible night markets that offer quintessential Taiwanese foods like guabao (pork belly buns), stewed pork knuckle, and mochi.
WIth a world-class infrastructure (as you’d expect from a country who is a leading producer of electronics), it’s easy to get around here. High-speed rail, full railway connections, rapid mass transit systems, and taxis will take you anywhere you need to go. Just outside Taipei are the internationally renowned towering mountains and hot mineral springs. Nature walks and vigorous forest hikes or bicycle rides begin here and are a delightful respite from urban excitement.
Other cities outside the capital offer additional opportunities to taste and experience the convergence of a modern country with ancient traditions and natural beauty. Taiwan’s people, with their friendly, warm smiles are ready to welcome MICE groups and, with 12,000 guest rooms available in Taipei alone, there’s plenty of room for everyone to experience the excitement and hospitality of an Asian Tiger up close.
