Key Points for Planners

  • Venues are most popular in winter and spring
  • Prices are often deeply discounted in summer months
  • In the high desert the air is thin and, according to weather boffins, your golf ball will fly 10-15% further through the air!

Arizona

Things are different in the desert. The sky is bigger. The stars are brighter. The sunsets will stop you in your tracks. It’s a feeling that can’t be conjured or kindled by photographs of towering saguaros against a painted sky. It’s a feeling that everyone should experience at least once in their lives. Twice, if possible.

Key Locations

Arizona is a testament to the spirit of puebloans, ranchers, miners, and visionaries. While its cities are cosmopolitan centers—full of everything a MICE planner could possibly want or need—they exist peacefully within a landscape of mountains, deserts, and cacti. This is likely due, in part, to the influence of American architect Frank Lloyd Wright, who believed in designing structures that were in harmony with humanity and its environment.
More than a dozen of his buildings, designated historical landmarks, still stand in Phoenix and Scottsdale. In addition to cuisine options ranging from an amazing food truck scene (Phoenix) to five-star dining (Scottsdale), Arizona offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy its beautiful year-round climate: World-class golf courses, luxury spas, hiking, horseback riding and river kayaking.
Oh, and then there’s this big hole in the ground called “The Grand Canyon.” Maybe you’ve heard of it. Bring your group to Arizona and you’ll see that it’s really true what they say: This destination puts the AZ in amazing. Sure, it’s hot there. But keep in mind: it’s a dry heat.
